BESSY II datathon: Standardizing science through FAIR data

The BESSY II FAIR Datathon is a hands-on workshop for early-career researchers in materials science, focused on improving reproducibility through FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable) data practices. Participants will develop practical workflows and gain experience with the NeXus common data standards, learning how to manage and standardize heterogeneous experimental data. The event includes collaborative exercises using the NOMAD platform and guidance on creating FAIR data conversion workflows. It is open to postdocs, PhD, and Master’s students conducting experiments at synchrotron facilities like BESSY II. Applications are limited, and participation requires submission of an example dataset and attendance at a pre-datathon meeting.

The datathon will be held in English.
